Serena entered the spotlight at age six signing a contract with Ford modeling agency while her acting career started in local theaters in Jacksonville, Florida then moved to TV with a PSA for the non-profit organization Hubbard House and a recurring role in BJ's Teddy Bear Bible Story TV series. Later quickly became a recognizable face promoting girls fashions for Bealls department stores print, billboards and TV commercial campaigns. Bookings have included principal roles in regional and national commercials, including Kohl's, Build-A-Bear, Arm & Hammer, Chase Visa, Cracker Barrel and Bealls Department Stores. As a tween, Serena danced with the Chipettes and splashed with Alvin in Alvin and the Chipmunks, Chipwrecked starring Jason Lee as they filmed on-board a Carnival Cruise ship for ten days.
